just say im sorry

a)from your own point of view is it useful to say "sorry" after years of wrong policies towards a minority? why, what else is neeed?

In my opinion it is not only useful to say im sorry after years of wrong policies towards a minority becasue it has been years of problems and mistreatment. A "Sorry" is not going to make up for what they had to go trought. Even thought nothing will erase the problems the minority had to face, it is better to do it with an act such as infrastructure improvement, or any other help.

b) do you know other cases of indigenous communities that have gone throught the same process? mention them

In my opinion any indigenous community nowadays deal with problems becasue of the policies the government implement, unless they are created to protect them. But I dont know any other specific case.

c) what can different organizations and the private sector do to avoid the abuse of minorities?

different organizations and the private sector can to many things to avoid the abuse of minorities, such as educating them without affecting their culture. also creating secial zones for them to live their lives as they are supposed to.

trade unions in Europe, the same as in Colombia?

The trade Unions were created in Europe during the Industrial Revolution. When the skills lost importance to perform the mayority of jobs shifting employment bargainning power almost a 100% to the employers side causing the underpaid shifts, the mistrear of workers and many other abuses againts the employees.

The concpet Europenas have about the trade or labor unions are the same as in Colombia, they play very similar roles. The most important one, protect the workers against employers abuse.

e-comerce in islamic perspective

E-comerce is a tool used by many people nowadays becasue it is fast and in some cases cheaper that going to a store and buy something. At first people didnt trust buying anything from somebody they didnt know o putting their credit cards information in a website. But technology has improved to the point that it is safe to use the internet to buy.

In the case of the Islamic culture there is a law called Syariah law that concerned the muslims with the legality of the e-comerce. Another point to take into account is that for their culture contact between the buyer and seller are very important. Inspite of this muslims are allowed to use e-comerce in a controlled way, following 5 rules such as: initiating contact, confirming the calidity, implementation and binding. This rules go according to their religion.

COLOMBIAN SALESPERSON

Based on the reading: Leadership Behavior and Organizational Commitment: A
Comparative Study of American and Indian Salespersons. I am going to study the aspects that, from my opinion, of a salesperson in Colombia.

The first aspect named in the reading is Organizational commitment, in this aspect there are two dimensions we can take into account which are: affective or continuance commitment. In my opinion salesperson in Colombia has an "affective commitment"with the company because they feel connected to it as if it was a part of them, they adopts the organizations beliefs and goals as their own and work for the development of the company.

Then we have the leadership behavior which is divided in consideration and initiation of
structure. In my opinion the Initiation structure is the most used by salespersons in Colombia, specially in big companies due to the fact that subordinates have specific roles and task that they have to do in other to keep their job.

The third aspect is the role stress which can be either role ambiguity or role conflict. In the case of Colombian salespersons can be better identified with the role ambiguity because they manage their sales with the information they need and since the companies are so organized they are not going to have to face different orders from different people, they have an specific "boss" to whom they have to report.

Finally we have the national culture which is also divided in two: individualism and power distance. In my opinion even though Colombians tend to be individualist in some aspects always looking for whats best for the without caring about the others, there are times when they know that team working is better and that not everything needs to be about oneself. So I think in Colombia we have both situations and it variates according to the personality of the salesperson, their job and the company they work for.
